Imagery

Imagery for the YOU, You desire.

Everything in life begins with a thought. Our thoughts affect the way we feel. What is a feeling? How are these feelings created? Our thoughts create an energy field around us and this energy field is the emotion we experience. Emotion is truly energy in motion.

Now we all know positive thoughts create positive results and like wise the opposite. Life happens and we can spiral in either direction as we choose through our thoughts.

How many of you ever visualize or have heard of visualization to create desired results? How many have heard of the movie “Secret” or “What the bleep do we know?” How many of you heard of the books “As a man thinketh” or “Think and grow rich.” All these go through the details of visualization to achieve desired outcome.

Outcome is a misnomer. Many believe that an outcome is a goal. Absolutely NOT!. A goal is what we want to happen at a certain point in time. I want to be a millionaire. I want to visit Paris. I want to lose a 100 pounds. I want to win  the Olympics. These are all finite. An outcome is a process, an “ing”. It is a journey you experience everyday. I am a millionaire. I am an Olympian. I am healthy with 10% body fat and my optimum weight of 110 pounds. I travel every summer with my family and Paris is one of the many places I have been visiting or been to.

How many of you would like to achieve an outcome, have a continuous flow of the positive or merely have a goal and then be done with it. E.g. After I lose my 10 pounds I can eat whatever I want and we all know what happens then, you gain 10 pounds in a week.

So why? Imagery? Enhancing your lifestyle becomes easy with imagery. When Martin Luther King said “I have a dream…” What did he mean? “I have a vision, I am using my active imagination to better the life of my people to create a better future for all of humanity.” When Gandhi was thrown out of a first class compartment from a running train in Johannesberg in South Africa he had a vision of the British Empire crumbling. These are powerful defining moments. Great people use this visions everyday to reinforce their neurology to achieve their outcome.

Now what is Imagery? Imagery is a journey you experience using your active imagination to create desired results and achieve outcomes. There are two ways to doing this, one is of course you force your sub-conscious mind into submission. E.g. Affirmations “I am rich I am rich I am rich.” “I am attracting wealth” I am Happy” and the sub-conscious mind is like 5-7 year old child. It always wants you to be happy and it knows when you lie. If you force it too many times and beat it up, it will say “o yes, I am skinny, happy and rich.” But reality is you are not. This is one big reason why affirmations do not work, or give your short term satisfaction.

The alternative that works is using your active imagination to see yourself achieving your goals. It is not a snapshot in time and space. It is a full-fledged 3D movie with light, sound, action, feelings, tastes and smells. If I suggest you think of your favorite recipe or dish, I bet you that almost all of you have a sensation in your mouth which reminds you of this recipe or dish. What if I ask you to think of your favorite flower or perfume? How many of you can smell it or have a sensation as though the smell is present in the air?

Because memory is not in your brain it is in every cell of your body. Every cell has a memory of you hence it can replicate itself. Girls usually do this they creep up behind their friend and close their eyes and through the touch the friend with closed eyes guesses who is closing their eyes.

The best part about our subconscious mind is it has all the answers within itself. All we need is to go to a space where we feel safe and then it gives us the answers we need to be. Using this same sensory acuity, you can be guided into a relaxed state where the therapist takes you into a comfortable place through a series of positive suggestions. It is a very interactive process and when you know you are there, the therapist asks you questions for your sub-conscious mind to find the answers and respond to them. These journeys are all for self-discovery, self-fulfillment and self-empowerment. The therapist is merely a tour guide who has been trained to take you on this journey.

So how do we use imagery to achieve our desired outcomes? A trained hypnotherapist can induce a state of trance or hypnosis through positive suggestions and take you into a state of total relaxation and guide you in your journey of healing, discovery and growth. E.g. where guided imagery is very successful is overcoming stage fright, writer’s block, winning a competition, test taking and passing an examination, and even healing from cancer, AIDS and other debilitating diseases. Clients using their active imaginary have come up with pacman eating up the cancerous cells. Imagery is great for pain management, or even preparing a client before they go into intensive medical treatment like radiation, chemo, surgery etc. I use imagery when I go to my dentist and give suggestions to my children too, so we never need to use toxins like novacaine or any anesthesia. Hypno-birthing uses imagery.

When the client is in state and experiencing the results in their active imagination, the therapist may suggest that the client heighten their senses and anchor the experience in their neurology, so new pathways are fired up as old limiting beliefs and conditions from the neural pathways are fried up.

You can use Cds to go on this exquisite journeys, they may be generic or customized for your situation. For this you will need to give me your name and current challenge and I can create a CD for you which only you can use, as it is meant for you. You can also book sessions where the journeys are interactive and as you progress in your life, your needs will change and so will the imagery sessions.

    Angel Imagery

Images are used on us everyday, thousands of times in a day. Have you ever watched television? Of course, you have. How about video clips on the computer? They flash thousands of images before your eyes. What about the radio? Radio gives you words and suggestions that then get interpreted into images in your mind. Advertisers use images and suggestions to make their product stand out to us at a supermarket.

    Therapeutic Imagery - An Intro.

Through a subtle relaxation process, Therapeutic Imagery enables the client to "bypass the censor we call the brain" and begin accessing his or her feelings more quickly, working indirectly with hidden issues and distorted belief systems.

Therapeutic Imagery applies imagery, the symbolic language of the subconscious mind, in overcoming conflicts or blocks in the behavioral motivation of the client. Similarly, imagery can assist in healing the physical body by engaging the latent, innate healing abilities of the client, leading to recovery and rehabilitation.

    Therapeutic Imagery

Imagery is a process, a journey which our mind is experiencing constantly through our waking hours and all states of sleep. When you wake up from a dream how do you know if it was real or a dream? And what is real and what is not? Our mind does not realize the difference between "reality" and fantasy.
